Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign spent six figures on a podcast that pulled in some of the viewership the president-elect scored by appearing on comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast, according to a new report.
Harris spent megabucks from her $1 billion war chest building a set for an appearance on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the Washington Examiner reported. Her interview was reportedly filmed in a hotel room in Washington DC.
Trump’s Oct. 25 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” already has more than 47 million views on YouTube, while Harris’ appearance on the sex and relationship-focused podcast Shameful Women just missed the 1 million mark, with 813,201 views. since uploading in October. 6, Fox News reported.
Rogan has said he was in negotiations with Harris’ team to have her appear on his podcast, but the plan was scrapped after she refused to record at his studio in Austin, Texas.
Harris’ presidential campaign also reported that the campaign spent $15 million on “event production,” with $1 million going to Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.
“Money can’t buy you love or a good candidate,” Republican political strategist Brad Todd told The Examiner when asked about Harris’ massive campaign spending.
“Advertising is a very important source of information for voters on the move. No doubt it matters, but it is not enough. It doesn’t matter if you have the wrong message and it’s not delivered in a compelling way.
“What her campaign lacked was any attempt to break away from the unpopular administration she has been a part of.”
Harris’ campaign did not immediately return messages.
